Overview

Description
The influence of culture, race and ethnicity on minorities as victims, suspects, criminals and practitioners. The major focus will be cross-cultural contact and the need for an understanding of cultural differences and respect for those of different backgrounds. The interaction between minorities, the courts, corrections, and police will be evaluated in the context of multicultural criminal justice. Additional time devoted to a Civic Engagement experience is required. Course fulfills Group B General Education Distribution Requirements.Successful completion of this course satisfies one Civic Engagement interaction.
