Topics include: the Messianic and Hassidic movements, enlightenment, emancipation and assimilation, the rise of new religious forms, the great migrations, nationalism, anti-Semitism, the growth of Hebrew and Yiddish literature, the emergence of Zionism and the establishment of the State of Israel.
