Upon successful completion of the Fashion Design degree program requirements, graduates will:
understand the nine head proportions of fashion figure (croquis)
discover which of the three media they are most comfortable and adept with
understand the basics of shading the three dimensional figure
use the croquis developed in Fashion Sketching For Fashion Designers I (FD 1100) as a basis for original designs
render design ideas into finished sketches for portfolio presentation
create original design sketches based on fabric samples (swatches)
graphically represent garment construction for sample garment production, using notes where necessary
plot and cut patters in PDS
operate a straight stitch sewing machine to construct garments
sew seams, pleats, darts, pockets, collars, welts, zippers, invisible zippers, and gathers
use a professional draping dress form
